Wednesday 3rd September
A huge welcome back to all the wonderful pupils and families of Waunarlwydd Primary School. We hope that you have all enjoyed a wonderful summer! The sun is shining and it has been great to see all the smiling faces as the children settle into their new classes ahead of an exciting school year. It has been a pleasure walking around the school and hearing the laughter and enthusiasm as children catch up with friends and staff. We have lots of plans in place aimed at making this year a memorable one for our superstars so let’s keep working together, communicate positively and remember that this is ‘OUR SCHOOL.’
Meet the Teacher
Next week you will have a chance to meet your child’s new teacher and learn about the year ahead in their new class. This will also include some examples of how to use Seesaw effectively.
Years 4, 5 and 6 – Wednesday September 11th (14.45)
Years 1, 2 and 3 – Thursday September 12th (14.45)
Attendance and Punctuality
Welsh Government, Local Authority and the Education Welfare Service have made improving attendance and punctuality at schools a priority. Any concerns regarding your child’s attendance will need to be discussed and the Education Welfare Officer will request to be involved if low attendance meets the threshold for external involvement. If you have any concerns regarding attendance, please don’t hesitate in getting in touch.
Social Media
While social media (e.g. Facebook groups) has it’s benefits we would prefer that any concerns regarding the school are brought to our attention directly so that they can be addressed. We will continue to promote our ‘open door’ policy and the message that this is ‘OUR SCHOOL’ so please don’t hesitate in getting in touch with any concerns, questions or ideas. Many thanks!
PTA
Following last year’s incredible successes, our wonderful PTA have more amazing plans aimed at enhancing the experiences for our pupils. More details to follow soon! If you would like to be involved then please get in touch!
It’s great to back, let’s hope that the sun sticks around for a bit longer!
Remember, as always, if you have any queries or concerns, don’t hesitate in making contact!
Diolch pawb!
